Germany - Bielefeld to Cologne

Grand Elector Frederick William 1 had stayed several times at this fortress, and two of his children were born here in Sparrenburg Castle. It has a lot of history attached to it since the counts of Ravensberg first had it built. Over the years the Dutch, Spanish, Swedes and Hessians, French and finally the German armies all fought to have control of this castle and lands.
